Hockey Between Friends

This is another quilt pieced by Sue Kurth during our Thursday night PROJECT night.  It is the "Between Friends" pattern from the Happy Hour quilt book.  She selected Hockey fabric for the main focus of this quilt, which was made for her Grandson.  She selected a grey flannel fabric for the back-- soft, cozy, and warm, just what Grandma loves!

I chose an overall "Bubble" or "Circle within a Circle" mixed in with random Star Shapes for the quilting pattern.  Again, since the fabric is so very busy, this quilt pattern will work beautifully.
Here is a photo of the back, because you can see the pattern so much better.

Not only do we quilt on Thursday PROJECT nights, but we occasionally celebrate birthdays.  Here we are celebrating Sue's Birthday.  Happy Birthday Sue (April 27th)!

This one is for the Grandson!

Joanie Hogan has been very busy!  Here she is with another quilt, this one for her Grandson.  It is a twin size quilt using a 4-patch block intermingled with large blocks.  It is bordered in green, and has a large block in each corner.

She decided she would like to use a crisscross pattern through each of the 4-patch blocks and a meandering pattern in each of the large blocks

For the green border, we used leafs and loops
I think it turned out great, and I am sure her grandson will keep warm for a very long time!
