Talk about a Family Business!  My sister created this pattern, with the intention to teach a precious 9 year girl, named Sydney, who has an amazing passion for sewing, how to quilt. So she created this easy to follow pattern, and got her 6 year old Granddaughter, Kenadie, and Kenadie's 1st cousin, Sydney to pick out some great fabrics for quilting.  She set aside1 day a week for 4 weeks to spend Grandma Jo Jo-time learning to quilt.  We called this quilt "Grandma's Place".  The girls picked out 3 different fabrics for the inside, along with a coordinating fabric for the border.  The quilt was started in November, 2011.
For the quilting, Grandma Jo Jo was able to practice meandering, and making loops for the border.

Here is a picture of the girls (Kenadie, Gabby, and Sydney) with their finished quilt tops....they are so proud.  Little 3 year old Gabby was able to work on a little table runner.  I am sure she will be able to have her Grandma Jo Jo time learning to quilt when she turns 6 too!  That's a great goal!
